Jeff Thomson (Music) and Jordan Mann (Lyrics)

As a songwriting team, Jeff and Jordan received a 2008 Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Grant, and they were 2006-2007 Dramatis Guild Musical Theatre Writing Fellows. Their songs have been featured in the acclaimed York Theatre Company’s N.E.O Concert Series, and Scott Alan’s Monday Night New Voices programs in Chicago and New York, as well as two sold out engagements at The Duplex. Their song “When The Words Won’t Come” was published in the Fall 2007 issue of “The Dramatist”. Their original musical Trails was recently awarded a workshop at Millikin University. Upcoming projects include, Virtually Me for TheaterWorks USA, and adaptations of the films Pump Up The Volume and Jawbreaker. Coming Soon, Jeff and Jordan will be the featured songwriters in the acclaimed “Songbook” series at Lincoln Center.

Jeff Thomson

Is a graduate of the University of Southern California. Other accomplishments include winning the co-principal trumpet position in the American Youth Symphony. His mini-musical, THE RED MOON EXPRESS, was performed at the Colony Theater in Burbank, CA where he also served as literary associate. He wrote additional music for the documentary, THE KIDNAPPING OF INGRID BETANCOURT, which won best feature at the slam dance film festival and was broadcasted nation wide on HBO and Cinemax. He assisted Jason Robert Brown on the musical 13 and Terrence McNally on SOME MEN at Second Stage and the workshop of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. Jeff is a proud member of the Dramatist Guild, ASCAP and the Humane Society.

Jordan Mann

Holds an MA in theater at Northwestern University (BA SUNY at Buffalo) where he focused on musical theater history and dramaturgy while also writing lyrics for the 2004 & 2005 installments of the long running WAA-MU show. Currently he is developing a new musical adaptation of THE SECRET SCHOOL (by Newberry Winning Author Avi) for PrimeStage Theatre in Pittsburgh. His adaptation if I.B. Singer’s TAIBELE AND HER DEMON was an audience favorite at CityLit Theatre’s 2007 Art of Adaptation Festival.He is the project coordinator for the Johnny Mercer Power Of The American Popular Song Program, which provides young songwriters with an opportunity to work with master teachers including Amanda McBroom, John Bucchino, Craig Carnelia, Brian d’Arcy James, Andrew Lippa, Lari White, and David Zippel. Jordan is an adjunct lecturer in Theatre and Speech at Triton College, and serves as a member of Chicago’s Promethean Theatre Ensemble.
